At low tide, you are able to walk to Otorii Gate but when the tide flows it looks like the shrine is floating on water.
This idea to make the temple look different according to the tide will be only found here in Itsukushima shrine.
The tour may be changed according to the whether condition.
We spent a great day with Kazumi today. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Hiroshima and Miyajima and took us to a great restaurant for lunch. She also gave us a recommendation for a terrific local yakatori restaurant near our hotel.
Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed the day in Hiroshima including Yukiyori dinner, too. You are so nice and I really appreciate my daughter’s situation. She is well now. Please give my appreciation to your wife. Thank you again. Kazumi
Follow Kazumi to visit Hiroshima's two World Heritage Sites in one day is absolutely a wonderful experience! Kazumi introduction to history and culture is detailed and professional. From the Hypocenter to the Genbaku Dome, from the survivor's basement to the museum, and the various monuments in the Peace Park, she is very knowledgeable, and you can follow her to gain an in-depth understanding of the tragedy that occurred in Hiroshima in 1945. The transportation plan of the tour was also very good, from the tram, ferry and the JR train, all kinds of connections were very good, and the waiting time was short. About the lunch, I was able to eat authentic Okonomiyaki with her. In Miyajima Kazumi was very professional in her presentation of Shintoism, Buddhism and Japanese history and the choice of photo spots was excellent. She was very patient and professional along the way, and the conversation was very easy, and I learned a lot about the local culture and life in Hiroshima from chatting with her. If you want to learn about Hiroshima's two World Heritage Sites in one day, please choose Kazumi!
Kazumi gave my family an outstanding tour of Hiroshima. We got a good feel of the city and sites in a short amount of time. Kazumi is kind, pleasant, and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed spending time with her and learning about the city's history together. Kazumi took us to Miyajima Island where we visited the Torii Gate, Itsukushima Shrine, and Daishoin Temple. Then we took the ferry back to the city where we saw the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Park and Peace Museum. Kazumi was helpful in prioritizing what to visit during our short stay in the city. She is easy to talk to and was a pleasure to spend time with. We highly recommend Kazumi as a tour guide!
Our tour with Kazumi was fantastic! We had limited time in Hiroshima, and Kazumi was able to show us both World Heritage sites with ease. Her commentary was really interesting and tailored so that our children could understand. She was very kind and helped the kids learn a little more Japanese. We all had a great day and highly recommend this tour with Kazumi!!
