The possibility of viewing Mt Fuji depends on the season, more than 70% in winter while less than 30% in summer. But there are other interesting places in Hakone such as cruising Lake Ashi, Hakone check point and other Museums.
I usually take public transportations.
Hakone will be very crowded. But I will choose the most efficient and comfortable way.
The ropeway to Owakudani is sometimes closed when the sulfur gas concentration of the area exceeds 0.2ppm or during severe weather conditions.
Fuji can be viewed from different angles by train, boat, or lift, and you can enjoy the nature of Hakone. You can also see Edo period government offices and officials at Hakone check point.
