On this tour, we’ll explore the fascinating and laid back city of Battambang. On the first day, we’ll leave Siem Reap and drive to Battambang. After, we’ve arrived, we’ll head to Ek Phnom, a temple located on top of a mountain. At the top, you can see stunning views of the surrounding province and Battambang city. In the evening, we’ll take a walk along the Sangke river and visit the Battambang museum. On the second day, we’ll visit Phnom Sampov and take a bamboo train ride.
At your hotel
This three day tour will take you to Battambang which is Cambodia’s second largest city. But don’t let that fool you, this is hardly a city and more of a laid back provincial town famous for it’s music and fruit production. On the first day, we’ll leave Siem Reap and start the 3 or 4 hour drive to Battambang. When we arrive, we’ll go directly to visit Wat Ek Phnom which is an ancient Angkorian temple located on the top of Ek Phnom Mountain. This 11th century Hindu temple offers stunning views of the farms surrounding Battambang. We spend there around two hours.

In the evening, we’ll pick you up and leisurely walk along the Sange River to eye witness the French's era architecture houses, market (Psa Nath), bank, post office as well as government house that still using now a day and most of them are located along the Sange River. We'll also go to see the museum and take a stroll along the Sangke River which runs through the town till late evening. We'll take you to have dinner at a local restaurant before returning back to your hotel.
On the second day, We’ll first take a ride on the popular Bamboo train to see the nearby countryside scenery landscape. Greenery rice field along the road in rainy season from May to October. We then move to Phnom Bannan, is one of the best preserved temples in Battambang province. This temple was built in 11th century by king Udayadityavarman II. On the way returning to town we'll make a last stop at a local winery to test and buy some for souvenir.
We'll take you to have lunch at a local restaurant before returning back to your hotel for relax.
We’ll head out to see Phnom Sampoeu, it is a natural site located along National Road 57 in Sampeou Commune, Battambang district, about 12Kilometers of Battambang city. During Khmer rouge regime, they executed thousands of people on Phnom Sampeou, and many were thrown through the roof of one of the caves and left to die in the cold and dark. Some of the bones left in the cave can be found in a cage, others are piled near the walkway. In the late evening, you’ll see the famous bat cave. As the evening approaches, 1000s of bats leave the cave to venture out into the night to feed. We'll spend there around three hours.
On the third day, we’ll head back to Siem Reap where we will stop at the Angkor Silk Farm. Here, you can learn about the production of fine Khmer silk. We'll be back and drop you off at your hotel around 12:00 noon.
