On the first day of this tour, we’ll drive out to Kampong Thom province to visit one of the earliest Khmer temples known as Sambor Prei Kuk. After one hour drive we'll take our first stop at Kompong Kdei bridge know as Spean Braptos " showing direction" in Khmer language to eye witness the one of the oldest bridges that are still in use until now a day. The bridge was built in twelve century during the Angkor era period by King Jajavarman VII. We'll spend there around half an hour, then, we continue our trip to Kompong Thom town.
After another two hours drive we'll arrive at Kompong Thom town; Krong Steung Saen. We'll first have lunch at a local restaurant (on your own account), then check-in into your hotel and break.
After lunch break, we'll head out again to visit Sambor Prei Kuk group. It was built in the 7th century by King Isanavarman I and it’s located on the eastern side of the Tonle Sap lake. There were more than 150 temples built on this site and it was dedicated to Gambhireshvara, a reincarnation of the Hindu god, Shiva.
In more modern times, the area was heavily bombed by the United States and you can still see the craters left by the bombs. Local guerrilla fighters also heavily mined the area which was only de-mined in 2008. This site was listed in the UNESCO world heritage in July, 2017. We spend there around two hours before driving back to town and ejoy overnight stay there.

During the wet season, all these houses are floating on top of the lake.
